RMIT Publishing's Informit was recently awarded a Robert D. Williamson Award, named in memory of an early pioneer of the Library industry.
This prestigious award was awarded to RMIT Publishing for their outstanding contributions to the development of information technology use in Australian libraries, specifically the Informit platform.
Heather Crosbie, Director of RMIT Publishing, accepted the award from Mrs Williamson on behalf of her team at the VALA conference last week.
VALA is an independent Australian not-for-profit organisation that aims to promote the use and understanding of IT within libraries and the broader information sector. It also offers its members access to a dynamic and professional network of IT practitioners.
Ms Crosbie said that as the leading provider of online research specialising in Australasian content, ‘RMIT Publishing is delighted to accept this award in recognition of the contribution of Don Schauder and all past and present staff who make Informit the success it is today’.
RMIT Publishing also used the conference to launch some exciting developments, including the addition of the Informit Literature & Culture Collection to the ever-evolving Informit suite. Informit was also a proud sponsor of the VALA conference.
